EBITDA fell sharply by 57% to Rs. 232.7 crore, while the EBITDA margin contracted by 1,524 basis points to 13.7%. The company's profit after tax (PAT) plunged 70% year-on-year to Rs. 122 crore.

ICICI Securities on PI Industries

ICICI Securities described PI Industries' Q2 FY27 performance as disappointing, due to weak agrochemical exports amid subdued global demand.

According to the brokerage, genericisation, pricing pressure and cost escalation were not being actively passed through, further affecting profitability.

Meanwhile, PI Industries' domestic agricultural biologicals business recorded growth of more than 45%. The company has also onboarded large pharmaceutical customers and is working on two strategic products aimed at securing long-term contracts.

Despite the weak quarterly performance, PI Industries reported a cash balance of Rs. 3,573 crore and incurred capital expenditure of Rs. 567 crore during the first half of FY27.
